《Admission for K1 in Academic Year 2026-2027》

1. Application Instructions
The Fanling Assemblies of God Kindergarten is one of the participating kindergartens of the “Kindergarten Education Scheme” by the Education Bureau (EDB). Parents are required to submit an application for the Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission (RC) to the Education Bureau (EDB) from September to November 2025. The RC will be open for applications in September 2025 and EDB will announce and upload the details of application onto EDB website (https://www.edb.gov.hk/k1-admission_e) in due course.

 

2. Application Requirements

  • The child should be born on or before 31 December 2023
  • Hong Kong resident

 

3. Application Methods (There is no quota for the application forms)

Online Application

 

 Online Application Period：

8 September 2025 (Monday) to 11 October 2025 (Saturday)

 Online Application Procedures：

    • Log into the online application system to submit the application form
    • Please fill in the “Application Form for Admission” online and upload the following items to the online system：
      • One recent photo of the child (1.5 inches x 2 inches) 
      • Birth certificate
      • Application fee HK$40
    • After the items are submitted, a “confirmation email” will be sent to your email account. Please note that the email may be delivered to your junk mail box or other mailboxes.
    • On the day of the interview, one parent is required to come at specified time and bring with them a print out of the “notification of K1 interview” letter, “Admission Application Form” with a recent photo (1.5 inches x 2 inches) of the child pasted on it, a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate, a white envelope (9 inches x 4 inches) with a stamp (local HK$2.2) and the child’s name and mailing address on it.

 ★  Online application is only available for applicants with HKSAR birth certificates. Other applicants shall submit their applications in person.

 (They are available at the Kindergarten or can be downloaded from the Kindergarten’s website.)

 Submission of Application Forms In Person：

 Date: 15 September 2025 (Monday) to 11 October 2025 (Saturday)

 Time: Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:00pm
           Saturday 9:30am to 12:00noon

 Procedures: 

  •   The Kindergarten will process one application form at a time for each person in the queue, except for applications for twins.
  •   Parents should provide a complete set of the following documents. Otherwise, the Kindergarten will not process the application. The required documents are：
      • A completed application form, with a recent photo (1.5 inches x 2 inches) of the child pasted on it
      • Photocopy of the child’s birth certificate or proof of Hong Kong residency
      • Two white envelopes (9 inches x 4 inches), each with a stamp (local HK$2.2) and mailing address with child’s name on it
      • Application fee HK$40

                                                                                                                         

Number of School Places

 A total of 180 school places for K1 half-day sessions
 (inclusive of both morning and afternoon sessions)

Application Fee

 HK$40. There is no refund for the application fee regardless of the application result.

 

4. Interview

  • Date：14 November 2025 (Friday) or 15 November 2025 (Saturday)

Online Applicants：

  • The Kindergarten will make arrangement to interview all applicants. Notification of the interview time will be sent through email one week in advance. If you do not receive any notification, please call 2669 8174 to enquire. One parent is required to come at specified time and bring the “notification of K1 interview” letter, “Admission Application Form” with a recent photo (1.5 inches x 2 inches) of the child pasted on it, a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate, a white envelope (9 inches x 4 inches) with a stamp (local HK$2.2) and the child’s name and mailing address on it.

Applicants who apply in person：

  • After the application forms are received, the Kindergarten will set the date and time of the interview through ballot. “Notification of interview” letter will be mailed by 16 October 2025 (Thursday). There will be NO change for the interview date and time. If you do not receive the notification letter by 20 October 2025 (Monday), please call the Kindergarten to avoid missing the interview.
  • The Kindergarten will make arrangement to interview all applicants. There will be no change for the interview date and time.
  • Group interviews with games will be conducted. Each session will take around 30 minutes
  • The child can be accompanied by one parent only.
  • Non-Chinese speaking children can come to our interview with a Chinese speaking companion. If you need translation service, please contact our kindergarten in advance. 

 

5. Selection Criteria
    a. Interview performance of the child
    b. Priority will be given to (★ Not guaranteed admission)：

    • Children with residence in the same district as the Kindergarten (North District)
    • Siblings of current students or alumni of the Kindergarten
    • Children of parents who work in the Kindergarten or its sponsoring body
    • Children of parents who are the members of Fanling Assembly of God Church 

 

6. Application Result
Parents will be notified on the application result by 26 November 2025 (Wednesday) via mail. If you do not receive the notification letter by 1 December 2025 (Monday), please call the Kindergarten to avoid missing the registration.

 

7. Registration Arrangements：

  • Successful applicants：Parents should complete the registration procedures for their child from 8 January 2026 (Thursday) to 10 January 2026 (Saturday) (Centralised Registration Dates) by submitting the e-RC / AP or screenshot of the QR code on the e-RC / AP to the KG and paying the registration fee.
  • Applicants on the waiting list：The Kindergarten will send notifications via mail. Parents intent to accept the waitlist option should submit the enclosed reply slip to the Kindergarten by the specified deadline. If vacancy becomes available, the Kindergarten will notify the parents to complete the registration procedures for their child. Parents should then submit the e-RC / AP or screenshot of the QR code on the e-RC / AP to the Kindergarten and pay the registration fee before the specified date.
  • If valid electronic registration document or screenshot of the QR code are not available during registration, the Kindergarten may be unable to complete the registration procedures for the children. Hence, parents should apply for the relevant certificates from EDB within the specified period.
  • Registration fee for Academic Year 2026/27 is HK$970, which will be refunded in September. Parents who wish to change the school for their children after registration are required to provide written notification to the Kindergarten. The Kindergarten will return the registration certificate, but not the registration fee. The Kindergarten will no longer keep the school place for child after the registration certificate is returned.
